Your Resume-How Many Pages

We continue our series on resumes and what you can do to demystify the myths and create a document that showcases what you do clearly and professionally.

Resumes. 1 page or 2 pages? That is a question I get often; a question that invokes fear and worry from the person who is asking.

The goal of a resume is to highlight your skills and accomplishments so the reader can understand what you do and how you can help them. The number of pages is not as important and getting this goal across.

The Weekly Action Challenge

Your challenge this week is to let go of the number of pages your resume “should be” and rather focus on what it needs to be so you can prove you are the best person for the job.

I do believe that 2 pages is the maximum. You want to showcase your skills, but you don’t want to overwhelm the reader either. As long as what you write makes sense, then the number pages is not as vital as getting your accomplishments understood and acknowledged.

So what do you say, you only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love!

people holding handsIs Social Networking Really That Important For Your Career? $29.95

The answer is YES. One of the biggest regrets my clients tell me is they have let their networks go. They got busy with their lives, and their jobs, and friendships and important contacts just slipped away.

Now, they are in trouble. They know the best way to get a job or get ahead in their career is through who they know, but they don't know anyone anymore. They feel frustrated and alone.
