MORNING ACTION TIP #79 |
E-WEEKLY TIP #78 |
Do you use some
of the following weak phrases? “I think I might.” “I should.” “Maybe I
could try.” Or, “I would like to.” Are you wondering why you are not
getting things done?
The word “will” tells the future. When you say you will do something, the
force behind this word propels you into action. Action is what gets you
closer to your goals.
Your challenge
this week is to eliminate weak words. If you hear yourself saying:
think, maybe, should, or might, stop yourself and say the word “will”
instead. “I will send out my resume today” is more powerful than “I
would like to send out my resume today.” “I will have a conversation
with my boss today” is more commanding than “I’ll try to have a
conversation with my boss today.”
Eliminating the weak words from your vocabulary will be
challenging. You are used to giving yourself a way out. Being weak
keeps you safe. Being decisive gets things done.
So what do you say? You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love.
