Do you feel guilty about something you did or missed out on in your career? Does your guilt prevent you from taking your career up another notch?

We all have done things in our careers that we are not proud of. Making mistakes and bad decisions is how we learn. We also find out what works and doesn’t work. These lessons are what open the pathway to better choices in the future.

But sometimes, we accept guilt as proof that we cannot succeed. When this happens, it is time to let guilt go.

THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE

Your challenge this week is to find someone you trust; a family member, friend, coach, colleague, etc., and tell that person the big mistake you THINK has damaged your career. Watch as pieces of the sky do not fall or lighting does not strike you. Notice that you are the only one in the conversation that thinks what you did is as bad as you do.

Now that you are not weighed down by guilt anymore, how about using your new found time and energy to move your career forward?

So what do you say? You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love.
