Are day-to-day responsibilities keeping you from moving forward in your career? Are you great at starting your career goals, but easily sidetracked, and unable to finish what you started?

Maybe what's missing is not will power, but the bigger picture.

The bigger picture brings purpose and meaning into our careers. The bigger picture motivates us to keep moving through the hard times or moments of doubt. Without it, we might never reach our goals.

THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE

Your challenge this week is to create the bigger picture.

Set aside the numerous "tasks" that fill your day, and think about where your career is leading. If you continue along your path, will the same "tasks" occupy your time one year, five years, or ten years from now? Are you comfortable with your answer?

If yes, then you may resume you daily routine with a greater sense of purpose. If you are not comfortable with your answer, then it's time to create a bigger picture that works for you.

Consider how you arrived at where you are today, what you like about your daily routine, and what you dislike about it. Then consider how you can take what you have today and mold it into a realistic and satisfying course for your future.

This weeks challenge may require some difficult soul searching. Don't be discouraged. Identifying your bigger picture will be worth the effort.

Note: If you have trouble defining your big picture, my 21-day career empowerment program can help you move through this process quickly. Please visit career21-day-empowerment.html for more information.

Your career goals are obtainable, once you can clearly define what they are. A little bit of work up front can give what you need to make your career goals a reality.

So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!

ARE YOU OUT OF WORK OR OVERWORKED?

If you answered YES, then working with a coach may be your best career move.

Many people who have hired me can now say that they are happier in their careers than they ever thought possible.

HERE IS WHAT ONE CLIENT HAD TO SAY:

"Thank you for encouraging me to visualize & realize my dreams. I am a better person for knowing you." (Dwayne Cox, Results Coach, Oakland, CA)
