Have you ever done something that you are ashamed of in your career? Does it still haunt you to this day?

Did you lie on your resume or stretch the truth in a conversation with your boss? Did you bring the wrong report to a meeting and then say it was someone else's fault? Did you call in sick when you weren't, or bring supplies home from the office?

We all have done things that we are not proud of. And, in most cases, no harm was done. The problem lies when you keep your shame inside, and are unable to let it go.

THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE

Write down the three most embarrassing things you have done in your career. Things you have tried to forget about, but have not gone away. Your challenge this week is to share them with someone you trust.

Yes, this can be a scary challenge. But once your embarrassment is out in the open, then there is nothing to hide anymore. This exercise will release you from the past so you are free to create a new future.

So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!

HOW DID YOU DO?

If you followed this week's action tip, or it made a difference in your life, I would like to know. Please send your story in an email to info@surpassyourdreams.com

Each week, one lucky individual will win $20 in COACH CASH to spend on any product or service at Surpass Your Dreams for their contribution.

This week's winner is Judy Miller who wrote in to say:

"Thanks for your tip about being more than my to-do list. Experience has taught me that to-do lists are a tool, not a manual. I find that my creativity is sacrificed and my flexibility disappears if I follow my list too rigidly. I remind myself at those times to focus on the big picture, rather than on crossing off single elements, hoping to create the big picture.

The act of writing something down is a ritual that helps me feel like I have things in control, but if I hold myself to a standard of performance that does not give me time to "smell the roses," my quality of life is diminished."

Good for you Judy!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
