Yes You Need A Resume

Resumes are one of those things that scare even the most seasoned worker. There are many rules and regulations that leave people confused and afraid of getting it wrong.

This tip, and the next 4 tips that follow, will challenge you to think about your resume in a different way, and act upon what you learn.

I will start with the question of whether you need a resume or not. The answer is yes you need one. Social networking will add to the effectiveness of your job search, but it will not replace the need for a good, professional written and focused document that showcases what you do clearly and well.

The Weekly Action Challenge

Your challenge this week is to review your resume. Move past the fear, or the feeling of being overwhelmed. Sit down and go through your resume and ask yourself if it represents what you do well or is it hiding your accomplishments.

Whether you need a job right now, or will want a job someday, having a resume you can be proud of will be the first step to getting something that is bigger, better, and brighter.

So what do you say, you only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love!

The answer is YES. One of the biggest regrets my clients tell me is they have let their networks go. They got busy with their lives, and their jobs, and friendships and important contacts just slipped away.

Now, they are in trouble. They know the best way to get a job or get ahead in their career is through who they know, but they don't know anyone anymore. They feel frustrated and alone.
