Are You All The Time?
Do you feel great at work or are you just getting through the day?
Having energy is crucial to career success. When you are tired, stressed, or burned out, you don’t have the motivation to do things beyond what your job responsibilities entail. Sometimes, you might not have the energy to meet even these basic duties. In the workplace, however, how you feel is not important to your employers or clients. You have a job to do, and you have to do it regardless of your mood or energy level.
Here are some comments I’ve heard while talking to people about having more energy to devote to their careers:
You cannot begin to get more energy until you recognize that being tired is a problem for you.
The Weekly Action Challenge
High energy is not something that happens by accident. You have to work at it. Your challenge this week is to work at it. But what do you do when you don’t have the energy to begin? Begin somewhere, with one small step. Begin where you are right now.
When you aren’t tired all the time, you can do things in your career that might otherwise be impossible. You are clear about what it’s important to you, and you are on the road towards getting there.
So what do you say, you only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love!
