MORNING ACTION TIP #221 |
Anger is a normal emotion. Some things have happened (and will happen) to you in your career that you will not like. This is true for everyone.
I have clients who can remember something hurtful that a co-worker said to them ten years ago. Or who still brood over a job they wanted long ago that was given to someone who did not deserve it. Some can pinpoint a moment in the distant past that was the reason why their careers took a turn for the worse. I know that these moments hurt. But whatever may have happened, realize that it was probably not purposely done to hurt you. At times, it can seem that there are people who are out to “get” you; but the truth is that most people act foolishly because they don’t know any better, or because fear and stress have driven them to use hurtful tactics.
THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE
Your challenge this week is to release anger. When you cling to a painful emotion such as anger, you cannot feel energized. When you release angry thoughts, by forgiving yourself and others, you will free up a lot of mental space which can be filled with passion for your career.
It’s not what happens to you in your career that does damage, but how you react to it
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
