Has updating your resume, working on a new idea for your company, or contacting people in your network been on your to-do list for quite a while? What’s the holdup? Lack of time, money, or a game plan? Are these things enough to stop you from getting what you really want in your career?
Great things in your career may never happen for you (either for the first time or again) because you have not begun the process to achieve them. I am not talking about an undertaking of overwhelming tasks that will consume you. I am referring to the small steps you can take over time to reach your goals.
THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE
This week ask yourself what you have not started yet in your career. Make a list of what you need to do to begin. Select one item and work on it this week. The item you start with does not matter. What’s important is you have started moving.
Unless you begin somewhere, your goals will not become easier to reach or materialize on their own. Once you start, you are that much closer to finishing.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
