MONDAY MORNING ACTION TIP #17
|
Previous E-Weekly Tips: |
Did you ever notice that we set dates for all types of things such as when we will go to the movies, meet friends, or run errands? But when it comes down to setting a date for when we will reach our careers goals, the answer in most cases is "someday." Or, when the fear and excuses go away.
I meet many people who are afraid to set a date for attaining career goals because they do not know if they will be able to meet them. They get stuck in HOW they will get there, and are unable to move forward. By not setting ANY date, they are prolonging the process.
THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE
Dates are motivators. They put you on the path to getting where you want to go. Dates give you the incentive to work out the "How's." (The answers really do come when you are ready to ask the questions!)
This week's challenge is to set a date when you will achieve your next career goal, and write down a timeline for attaining it. Don't worry yet if you can reach it. Pretend that you can.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
HOW DID YOU DO?
