MONDAY
MORNING ACTION TIP #165 |
Tip # 164 “End Worrying” brought many comments from you. One reader, Janice Lodato wrote to tell me:
“Thanks for this action tip! I completed the three columns. It really helped. Boy, I spend a lot of time
worrying when I could have more fun doing. I see a few small steps that I can take in this direction.”
“I wonder how much time all of us spend worrying each day? If we spent even half that time not worrying, how much could we get done that we’d really enjoy doing? Maybe we could stop and smell the roses, as they
say, take a deep breath, have a chat with a colleague, read an interesting article, learn a new word or two in
our favorite foreign language? As we carved out more time, we could finish other projects that we never seem
to have time for -- wow! “
THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE
As a thank you to Janice and those who sent in their comments:
Your challenge this week is to clock your worrying.
In your calendar, as you jot down appointments, and to-do’s, this week also jot down when you are worrying.
If you are worrying for five minutes, write it down. If you are worrying for thirty minutes, write it down. At the
end of the week, tally how much time you spent worrying about an issue or a problem in your career.
Are you surprised? Tackle your worrying head on. It takes less time doing something about your worries, than thinking about them.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
WHAT TO SAY WHEN...
Ever wonder what to say in these specific situations?
What do I say on an interview so I get the job? What do I say to my boss so I get the raise I want? What do I say so people
will return my phone calls and e-mail's? What do I say to a difficult co-worker so we get along?
I have created a series of telephone seminars so you can learn something new; specifically what to say at certain important moments
in your career.
All the experts say to ask for what you want in your career, but what's missing most of the time are the actual words to make your
career goals real and your career wishes come true.
