Are you wound up? Worried about your job? Are your worries keeping you up at night?
Stress and worry are normal in uncertain times. For many of us, our careers have been tough for a while. Over time, this wears us down and makes us believe a solution is not possible.
We have reasons not to laugh. We have been laid off, know people who have been, or are worried that we will be next. We are working more and getting paid less. We are tired of waiting for the economy to pick up. We want things to improve now.
But worrying keeps us afraid and fear saps our energy. If we are going to find a way to be happy, we have to help ourselves first.
THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE
When was the last time you laughed? Days, months or years? This week remember to laugh. Find something that is funny, not sarcastic or ironic, that will make you laugh out loud.
Read a comic book, watch an old sitcom that brings back good memories, or ask a child to tell you a joke. You will be amazed at the effects and positive thoughts that laughter can bring into your life.
Yes, you may be tired and busy. Make or find the time because laughter tells your mind that everything is going to be ok.
So what do you say? You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love.
