Dissatisfaction is a major motivator that forces us to make changes in our careers. But even when we are dissatisfied, we find many reasons not to face the source of our dissatisfaction. We tell ourselves that we probably won't get what we want anyway, so why bother. We wait for the problem to get better on it's own before we act. And, we wait. We wait until it becomes apparent that we have no choice but to try something else. In order to get a different result, you must do something different. Often that requires change, either a change in your thinking or a change in the way you do things, and change is uncomfortable. At some point, you will decide that your dissatisfaction is more uncomfortable than any change you have been thinking about and then you can start working towards making your dissatisfaction disappear.

THE WEEKLY ACTION CHALLENGE

Are you dissatisfied with something in your career? Everybody has something. It could be a major dissatisfaction, or just something that is irritating. This week, commit to facing it. Write down your dissatisfaction and make peace with it. Then, identify what you need to do to change it. You don't have to be dissatisfied in your career no matter how uncertain or scary the job market is. Dissatisfaction can disappear once you decide to face it.

So what do you say? You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
