"Deborah was direct, personable, organized and thorough. She helped me make clear decisions about my career, to articulate what type of job it was I really wanted, and to get moving towards actually reaching this goal. (She also helped to determine what it was I definitely did not want which was equally helpful.)
Her method was clear and effective. We brainstormed about the type of job I wanted, the amount of money I required, outlined the results of these ideas, and developed a plan of action which she then strongly encouraged me to adhere to. By the end of the first session I was encouraged to move ahead decisively, and indeed the method along with my own efforts have brought results in a short time period. Within one month I had begun to generate several interviews [and offers], even during a time of year which is traditionally thought of us "dead."
I have finally landed a job that I think will be a good fit. I owe Deborah a debt of gratitude for her capability and her encouragement, as well as for her thoroughly professional approach to job coaching. I'd recommend her to anyone in a similar situation. She has my warmest thanks."

I just wanted to write and thank you for all the help you've been the past 6 months. Since I hired you after the 9-11 debacle here in NYC, you've been a Godsend!
I like your cool, calm and collected style, which actually helps me organize my thoughts clearer and keeps me from being the normal "hyper" guy that I am. The guidance, tips and planning you helped me with have been invaluable. Your constant follow-up and attention to detail in our coaching sessions have made a tremendous difference and I am amazed at what I am able to accomplish with your support.
After my business collapsed, I had no idea what I would do next. At first, I really didn’t want to look at the opportunities, I just wanted to sulk. Thanks for gently prodding me to set a timeline and create a new plan. I love my new career choice. I do not know if I would have made it as quickly without you. I am grateful that I met you.

I just want to thank you for being such an awesome coach! After our conversation yesterday, I went straight into my boss’s office and resigned.
After he got over the initial shock, we had a great conversation. Quitting my job is something that I thought I would never be able to do, and certainly not as powerfully as the way I did.
Although my boss is sad that I will be leaving, he knows that I am a person who will be out there making the world a better place. The best part is he wants to keep me on in a part-time position so he can support my decision to go back to school. Thank you for your support and coaching around this.
I also wanted to let you know how right you were about how not pursuing my dreams was affecting my life. Since I am following my heart, my personal relationships have never been better.
All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you!

For those of us trying our level best to discover the REAL US in our working lives, as well as work our way through the bombardment of career advice that’s out there, it’s nice to know there is someone like you who can help a serious job searcher nail it.
Our work together has helped me visualize and fine-tune my options. I got a real great sense of being on track, with concrete areas to pursue; areas that really sing for me. I learned organizational strategies that kept me focused. Our sessions were extremely productive, and I now have a plan of attack.
Thanks to our conversations and the helpful e-mail follow-up, I have zeroed in on my real goals, and am enjoying the momentum. I have made the absolute MOST out of an unanticipated stretch of unemployment. Through asking the tough questions, and by pushing the envelope, you have helped me make up for lost time in my career transition. Your zeroing in on what really matters: it’s not just the money, but the sense of value in the work I do, that I can finally have a career I love.
I think every career site should have a link to surpassyourdreams.com. Your services have been worth every penny.

I am writing to thank you. During the course of the four months in which I received your coaching, my outlook on my career changed tremendously.
Your intuitive nature during our conversations has allowed me to look deep within myself and has given me insight into "why I am the way I am." You have given me the tools to change what I do not like in my career, and to accept the things I cannot change.
Thanks to your coaching, I was recently promoted to a job that I have wanted for a long time. I know I received this promotion because of your coaching. In addition, I have become more productive at work. I no longer allow the "little things" to upset me. I now understand that I am the one who creates my own happiness - no one else.
I will forever be grateful to you for your strength and wisdom.

As a result of your coaching, I am employed again!
This past year has not been an easy year for me. When you get up in the morning and you don’t have a job, the negative talk starts in your head. When I first hired you, my confidence level was down. My motivation was non-existent. But now, thankfully, I am through it.
Just by making the decision to work with you caused me to take more action in contacting people. I launched two potential ideas that I was working on for over two months. I thought I had hesitated because I wanted to make sure they were perfect first. My real concern was that if they didn’t succeed, I would have no other ideas.
Crucial to the process was talking through opportunities, and identifying actions steps I needed to take to move forward. Talking made me realize that I was accomplishing more than I thought. I valued the process of thinking through ideas and breaking them into manageable and doable pieces.
I created a new structure for creating ideas and a method for putting them into place. I learned how to focus and build momentum. I understand how to accept my negative thoughts and let them roll.
There were other benefits to your coaching. You helped me recognize how I was showing up with people and how to eliminate the behaviors in my career that were standing in my way. I’ve learned not to worry about what people think of me. This is who I am. This is what you get. I no longer conform to what other people expect of me. I finally got to be myself.
I also found out that I am multi-talented. I never want to go through being laid off again without a contingency plan. I will create multiple streams of income going forward. I will create a strong network to assist me in case this ever happens again.
Thank you for the positive feedback and the acknowledgment. I appreciated it. It helped me reach my goal.

My career has not been the same since I met my coach and catalyst Deborah Brown.
As a result of Deborah's coaching, miracles have been flowing into my career. For example, I had told her that I was resigned to stay in a dead-end job because it seemed to give me some control over my life and I didn't know what I wanted to do anyway. Because of her coaching, I have accepted an incredible new job that is custom-tailored for me. I am happier than I have been in years.
In addition, since working with Deborah I can:
- Move forward with decisions without procrastination in spite of not having the perfect option or being perfectly ready.
- Feel my own tremendous power in shaping my reality and influencing all people with whom I come into contact with.
- Take full responsibility for what is and what is not in my career.
I am grateful to have such a wise coach as Deborah Brown in my life, as her gifts to me multiply every day. It is an honor and privilege to recommend her services.

It has been a true pleasure working with you over the past several months. Your coaching provided me the confidence, courage, and optimism to face the uncertainty of losing a job and starting my own company. Our weekly discussions and your candid feedback, sound advice, and encouragement gave me the tools I needed to succeed through a key transitional period in my career. Working with you has provided me an unbelievably strong foundation as I move forward.
I believe every businessperson, whether experiencing current success in their career or going through a transition, should engage the services of a career coach, just like you. Next to my MBA, I cannot think of a better investment in my career.
I would not hesitate, for a moment, in recommending you to all my friends and business associates. I feel privileged to call you my coach and friend

“I came across Deborah Brown from an article that appeared in the Business Marketing Association newsletter. Her words stopped me because she seemed to really understand the topic of finding a job you love and also seemed to have the tools to help make this a reality. In fact, she did it for herself so she obviously had a process that at least worked for her. In addition, I learned that she was educated in career coaching.
I’ve tried a few career counselors in my 30-year career, but they were pretty much useless. They knew the mechanics of job hunting and personality tests, but that’s where it ended. They didn’t know how to go deeper or incorporate my true desires as they related to the workplace.
I decided to give it a try. I was skeptical, but I’m glad I took this opportunity. Deborah not only gave me solid career advice, but also the encouragement that I needed. She also opened my mind up to options. I never thought possible. I now have the courage and a solid action plan for achieving what I want in the workplace. So if you’re looking to find a happier, more enjoyable way to earn money, I highly recommend that you give Deborah a try.”
