I. ARE YOU ANGRY ABOUT YOUR CAREER?

Part I.

Do you wish you were doing something else in your career? Do you wish your circumstances were different? Do you think other people have it easier or better than you? Are you angry about it?

Anger is a normal emotion. Sometimes things happen in our career that we do not like. For example: a promotion we want does not come through. A co-worker gets credit for work we have done. A job we interview for goes to someone else. It gets frustrating and frustration can lead to anger.

But it’s what we do when we get angry that matters. Do we use our anger to learn and then move on? Or, do we hold grudges longer than is good for us?

Anger does not have to rule your career. You can have a career that brings you satisfaction and fulfillment once you commit to being happy.

See Part II continued below…

WHAT TO SAY WHEN...

Ever wonder what to say in these specific situations?

What do I say on an interview so I get the job?  What do I say to my boss so I get the raise I want? What do I say so people will return my phone calls and e-mail's? What do I say to a difficult co-worker so we get along?

I have created a series of telephone seminars so you can learn something new; specifically what to say at certain important moments in your career.

All the experts say to ask for what you want in your career, but what's missing most of the time are the actual words to make your career goals real and your career wishes come true.

II. THREE STEPS FOR LETTING ANGER GO

Part II.

So, How Can You Be Less Angry About Your Career? Follow These Three Steps Below:

1. Let Anger Go

What’s more important? Being right or happy?

We all have aspects of our career that we wish would not have happened. Or, we would have done differently. The truth is the longer you work, the greater the chance of being disappointed or making a mistake. But if you are primarily thinking about what went wrong in hopes that it will be corrected on its own, then your method will not work. Letting go of anger is the only way to make anger disappear.

When you hold onto an emotion that hurts you, it holds you back. Bitterness and blame are for victims. You are not a victim. You are in charge of your career. Once you let that in, and you free yourself of angry thoughts, you can move forward again.

2. Focus On What You Have Going For You.

It does not matter who went to a better school, who knows someone you do not, or who seems to have it easier than you. What does matter is what you do with what YOU have. When you focus on what’s missing, a sense of lack becomes your prevalent thought. This means you are operating in your career from a position of weakness. When you focus on what makes you special and unique, a whole new you with a fresh perspective can emerge. This means you are operating from a position of strength, a really good place to be. You are you for a reason. Stop focusing on your weak spots and capitalize on your strong points.

3. Start Where You Are Now .

As they say in the investment industry, “past performance does not equal future results.” This means that no matter where you were yesterday, or what you did, or what happened to you, you can create something different now. Do you want a promotion? What do you need to get ready for it? Get the facts and then present your case. Do you want a new job? Try again and stop trying alone. Keep sending out resumes and cover letters even if you do not believe it will make a difference. (It does.) Your career will consist of highs and lows. The lows are lessened when you try again; where you are now. Today is your second chance. Take it.

So what do you say? You only have one life to live so it might as well be a life you love!

III. COACHES CORNER

Since many of my subscribers are coaches, this section is for you. It contains tips and techniques to take your coaching practice to the next level.

THIS MONTH: TOP KEYS TO FREE YOUR MIND

Our clients was anger-free coaches. This means we have to work on being the best we can be. Anger begins with our thinking and can be eliminated by our thoughts.

Often our thinking creates thoughts which disempower us. Following these ten points one can help you free your mind so you are open to coach from positive and powerful place.

1. Know What You Want And Why You Want It.

We cannot get what we want until we know what it is! Often the things we think we want are things someone else tells us we should want.

2. Stop Being "Right" And Go For The Result.

Life offers infinite options and possibilities, but often we only see one or a few ways. Being *right* results in feelings of anger and hostility; it produces conflict, and prevents forward progress toward our desired result. Keep your eye on the result desired and your mind open to the idea there is always another way.

3. Recognize Your Freedom To Choose.

Life offers infinite choices and in every moment we choose the experience we are having. The life you are living right now is the culmination of the choices you have made up to now. If you are not experiencing the life you want, simply make different choices.

4. Keep Your Agreements.

Always keep your agreements – with yourself and others. Not doing so will result in feelings of guilt, obligation and ultimately diminished trust – of yourself and from others.

5. Nothing Means Anything.

All meaning is created by the way we choose to experience the events that make up our life. Choose meanings based in love, joy and opportunity instead of fear, insult or "victim" and you will flourish.

6. You Do Not Understand Anything.

Your inquiring mind wants to *know*. That is its job. But, everything is constantly changing. Life is ever transforming, growing or dying. Understanding is always thinking from the past – not that understanding is inherently *bad*. But, thinking is not experiencing. Understanding is placing our past experiences on a unique experience in the now.

7. Live In The Present, Not The Past.

Assumptions, interpretations and stereotypes are our way of quickly assessing a situation. These thought faculties serve a valuable purpose, but they also prevent us from fully experiencing the present moment. Our past experiences create filters, which influence how we perceive a current situation.

8. Are You Thinking From Love Or Fear?

All of our thoughts have a foundation in love or fear. Love based thoughts produce faith, commitment, opportunity, joy, and love. Fear based thoughts produce hopelessness, overwhelm, anger, insult, confusion, and guilt.

9. Develop Impeccable Integrity.

Integrity is the level of personal freedom one experiences. Integrity is walking our talk. When integrity is breached, there is no freedom to experience our highest self.

10. Always Tell The Truth.

When we are dishonest, we may believe we are getting away with something. A lie is a direct means for telling yourself, "I cannot trust myself to manage the consequences the truth might bring." Getting caught in a lie might damage trust with another, but the real cost is the trust damaged with yourself. A life free of hiding anything about ourselves is the truth that sets us free.
