Another year has gone by. For some of you, it was filled with challenges. For others, the year brought rewards and surprises. Wherever you are today, you are here because you said by your actions that you wanted to be here.
The pathway to achieving goals is straightforward. You say what you want, you develop a plan, and you execute your plan. Is this simple? The answer is yes and no. We mean well when we set a goal, but then life gets in the way and we lose track of the bigger picture. We end up questioning our goals. Do we deserve them? Do we have what it takes to achieve them? We blame ourselves for making promises that time and time again we seem to break.
Would you like this year to be different? Would you like to look back a year from now with a sense of pride for a job well done? Here's how:
Write down a career goal and why you want to achieve it. Tell the truth about why you want to reach your goal. Is it for someone else's benefit or your own? Did you set your goal to please someone or did you set it for yourself? A goal cannot move from concept to reality unless you create it for the right reasons.
Before you continue, carefully consider whether your goal is right for you. If not, adjust it now, before you move forward. Once you are in harmony with your goal, picture yourself as already having achieved it. What are you doing differently? Are you in a new job? Do you have a new title? Are you making more money? Are you in a different industry or location? Visualize your success. Can you see it?
As you are doing this exercise, refrain from screening yourself. If fear or the reasons you can't reach your goal come to the surface, acknowledge them, thank your fear for its opinion, and tell it to go away. You can't prevent a negative thought, but you can make it disappear.
The key to your success is clearly defining what you want and then visualizing the end result. Who knows what next year has in store for you? As long as you can see the finish line, and you have a good reason for crossing it, you are already on your way.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
You can get out with tips, techniques, and secrets from a renowned career coach, author, and career expert who can show you how.
It’s tough when your job is not going well. Maybe you have a terrible boss that you cannot work for any longer. Maybe you have difficult co-workers who are driving you crazy. Maybe you are underpaid, unappreciated, tired, frustrated, stressed, overworked, and you just do not want to go into work anymore. Maybe you are bored out of your mind.
Well, there is good news. There are proven tools, strategies, and resources you can use to help you make a decision about what to do next. If you want to get out of your current job, my Career Escape Program can give you the tools to do so.
The Career Escape Program was created as of a result of my work with hundreds of clients, many who hated their jobs and felt they were trapped and could not do anything about it. The components in this program are the components I used to walk my clients through their escape. I have captured these steps for those who want to know what they did and how they can apply it to their situation.

II. TOP WAYS TO REALIZING YOUR GOALS IN THE NEW YEAR
1. Write Your Goals Down
You will be surprised how many people have not taken the time to do this. How
can you pursue something when you don't know exactly what it is? Define your
goals and write down the results. Make it tangible so you'll know at the end of
the year if you have achieved it or not.
2. Place Your Goals In A Visible Place
Don't just write your goals down and then forget them. Your goals need constant
attention. Display your goals on your computer screen saver, on your desk, on
the fridge, wherever is best for you. Remind yourself of your goals on a regular
basis.
3. Live And Breathe Your Goals
See your goals as your very own assignment that only you are capable of
achieving. This will give you the energy you'll need to stick with it to
completion. Even during the tough times.
4. Re-Affirm Yourself To Your Goals
Eliminate all forms of F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real). For every
negative thought, counteract it with a positive one. Tell yourself that you will
make it. You will achieve your goal. If you can see it, you will believe it. If
you believe it, you can make it happen.
5. Create An Action Plan And Follow It Rigorously
Set tasks that include reasonable deadlines. (That will not be a noose around
your neck). Once your action plan is in place, perform the necessary tasks to
achieve it. Set milestones, which will indicate what you will accomplish by what
specific time. Whatever your goal, take action everyday no matter what. Every
action gets you closer to the bigger picture. Before you know it, you have
reached your goal.
6. Surround Yourself With Those Who Are Going In The Same Direction As You
Find people who have the same vision and purpose as you.
7. Look For Role Models
Look for those who have achieved whatever it is you are aspiring to achieve and
use them as role models. Emulate whatever it is that they did to get to where
they are now (their behaviors, actions, etc) and learn from their mistakes. Find
out whatever worked for them and apply the same principles to your goal.
8. Make Yourself Accountable To Someone Who Can Support You In Achieving Your
Goals
A coach can support you in accomplishing your goals. Coaching is one of the best
self-investments you can make. Your coach will listen, endorse, and support you.
A coach will be by your side as you take your goal, which is on paper, to a goal
that is real.
9. Get Started Now
Have you heard the saying: "Do no not put off until tomorrow what you can do
today?" It's one thing to say you are going to accomplish something; it's
another thing to do what it takes to realize your goals. Talk is cheap! Actions
are priceless! Get started now. Create a daily actions list and stick to it. It
is better to fail doing something than to succeed in achieving nothing.

THIS MONTH: HELP YOUR CLIENTS UNDERSTAND THEIR GOALS
How do you get your clients focused on their goals? It's all in the questions you ask. Get your clients thinking and talking about their goals by using open-ended questions. Here's a great list to get you started.
1. What would you like to achieve in your lifetime?
2. What do you want right now?
3. When will you give yourself permission to obtain it?
4. What would you like to be remembered for?
5. What was the one thing as a young child that you loved doing the most? Are you still doing it today?
6. What motivates you?
7. If time and money did were not obstacles, what would you have achieved by now?
8. If you woke up tomorrow and life was perfect, what would it be like?
9. Which of these areas would you like to change? Career/business, relationships with family/others, relationship with yourself, money, recreation/play. When will you change it by?
10. How can I help you achieve your goals?
