ARE YOU GETTING PAID WHAT YOU ARE WORTH?

If the answer is no, then why not?

You are talented, knowledgeable, and you have great experience. So if you are not making as much money as you'd like, what's missing?

Your thoughts about money, what you deserve, and how much you will have in your lifetime holds the key to how much money you will have in the bank. Your thoughts are key to how much money you have right now. You may argue with me because the economy is in a downward cycle. You may write and tell me that you or people you know are out of work and living on savings, so how can they be to blame for a smaller bank acount?

I know how hard the economy has been on people. I know the hardships, struggles, and worries they face on a regular basis. I speak and hear from thousands of people every year, and I understand what they are going through. But in order for them to have something different, (more money in their life), they will have to think and act differently.

There are people out there who are making money. They are getting raises, promotions, and new positions. How are they doing this? They believe that they can, they decide that they want it, and then they take actions based on their beliefs and decisions.

Do you believe you can make more money? Have you decided that you want it? Are you prepared to take the action that will get you there? As you ask yourself these questions, you might realize that you are not willing to pursue the money at any cost (longer hours, more stress, school, relocating); and that realization will make you more comfortable with your current situation. But, if you are ready to go for it, then you can make it happen.

If you want a raise, how about making a plan to go get it? Give your boss so much evidence that you deserve more money that he/she will not be able to say no. If you are out of work, what can you do to make money until you secure a full time position? How can you take your experience and make it so attractive that people will hire you on a consulting basis? Create a plan and an offering that no one could say no to. The power to make more money is in your hands. All you have to do is reach out and grab it.

So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR CAREER!

Would You Like To Be The One In Charge?

I created a 21-Day Career Empowerment E-Program to help you take charge of your career. At the end of the program, you will have the knowledge and tools to either embrace your current career with power, or have the direction and insight necessary to create a career with purpose and meaning.

HERE'S WHAT ONE PERSON WHO TOOK THE COURSE SAID:

"After being out of work for months, I decided to transfer my skills to a new position. As a result, I was offered a new job. Because of your program, I did not take the first offer that was presented to me. I knew exactly how much I wanted to earn, and was able to calmly ask for what I was worth. Not only did I get what I wanted, but I also received full medical coverage and a guaranteed bonus! (This was not part of the original offer) I still cannot believe it. I know I would not have been as clear or courageous about asking for what I wanted, if I did not take your program first."

II. TOP WAYS TO GET A RAISE AT WORK

1. Increase the company's sales.

Raises are easier to give when they are "paid" from a better bottom line.

2. Cut the company's expenses.

And document it.

3. Eliminate a big problem in the company.

And document it.

4. Become known in the company as the person who REALLY gets things done.

No matter what position you have in the company, you CAN become one of these people. When you've developed this reputation, getting a raise is a lot easier.

5. Develop a different compensation package.

More companies, afraid of losing key talent (yes, even in this market), have become more flexible in adjusting compensation packages to meet an employee's specific needs.

6. Get paid for performance as part of your salary.

Either get a bonus on top of your current salary for predetermined "extra" results, or put some of your current salary at play and be compensated (well) for agreed upon strong results.

7. Take on more responsibility.

This is a step to a higher salary.

8. Get a degree or advanced degree.

This can work well in either getting a raise at work and/or because now you're worth more in the marketplace, thanks to the benefit of an additional degree. It's worth it.

9. Become irreplaceable.

Learn a key set of skills, be the only person who has a special talent, manage a key client, etc.

10. ASK for a raise.

You can assume that most every person in any company is underpaid, because they are. Given that, ask for a raise.

Do you want a career you love? If you answered YES, then working with a coach may be your next move!

If you answered YES to any of the above, then working with a career coach may be your next move. Many people who have worked with me can now say "I love what I do!"

HERE IS WHAT ONE CLIENT HAD TO SAY:

"I believe every businessperson, whether experiencing current success in their career or going through a transition, should engage the services of a career coach, just like you. Next to my MBA, I cannot think of a better investment in my career." (Greg Marchi, Former Managing Partner, Captus Communications, Great Falls, VA)

III. COACHES CORNER

Since many of my newsletter subscribers are coaches, this section is for you. It contains tips and techniques to take your coaching practice to the next level.

COMMON TOP WAYS A MILLIONAIRE THINKS

Are you making as much money as a coach as you'd like to? Here's some thoughts on how to make your financial goals a reality.

What makes a millionaire? A tireless work ethic? A high IQ? Dumb luck? Good financial karma? None of the above. The following set of behavioral characteristics is what does it.

1. Optimism.

2. Uncritical of your own mistakes. Nothing really throws you.

3. You take action. You don't get locked in analysis-paralysis.

4. You listen for opportunity, not for what's wrong or why something didn't work out.

5. Master plan.

6. You feel you deserve the money you make. There's no guilt.

7. Savvy investor. You save 15-20% of your income yearly.

8. You do what you love and find a way to make money at it.

9. You surround yourself with people who believe in you and support your goals.

10. You are self-assured.
