I. THE UNFILLED QUEST TO BE PERFECT
We live in a world where being perfect is the accepted norm and everything else is the reason why we don't measure up or fit in. We try to be the perfect parent, spouse, lover, and friend. We try to be perfect at our jobs, at completing our to-do lists, and at finding time for ourselves.
But being perfect has a downside; it's extremely draining. We know intellectually that we shouldn't care if we are perfect or not, but the little voice inside tells us that perfect is the only way. It's the key to happiness and acceptance, and we all want to belong. We know that perfect is not realistic, but we also can't seem to find another way.
How about just accepting who you are? When you can accept that you are human, flaws and all, your quest to be perfect can disappear. Start by releasing old expectations and take each day as it comes. Life is a process. The goal is to be happy today no matter how perfect you are.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!
TRANSFORM HOW YOU LOOK AT YOUR CAREER
Are you in your ideal career? If not, then I ask "Why Not?" Life is too short to be in a career that does not match with who you really are.
So what is stopping you? Are you tied to making a certain amount of money? Does moving into what you really want seem too daunting or overwhelming? Are you afraid that moving into a career you would love means that you failed at the career you have now?
I created a 21-Day Career Empowerment Program to help you answer these questions. At the end of the 21 days, you will have the insight, clarity, and knowledge to lead yourself to a more satisfying career. No more wondering! You will finally have direction, focus, and piece of mind.
Here's what one person who took the course said: "I look forward your 21-day program e-mail's. They are so enlightening and helpful. I love the way you personalize them, how you talk about not being a 9-5 person, and how your dreams can and will happen if you let them. Thank you for sharing your own struggles about working in the wrong jobs, feeling trapped, but staying because you had to pay your bills. Because of your program I know that my dream job, and changing my life will not happen overnight, but they will become a reality." (Michele Clavell, Legal Secretary, Astoria, NY)
The entire program is only $39. Visit career21-day.html
II. TOP WAYS THAT LIFE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE WONDERFUL

DO YOU LOVE YOUR CAREER?
Is your career wearing you out? Are you tired of fear and excuses standing in your way? Would you move forward if you had a place to start?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then working with a coach may be your next move. Many people who have received coaching can now proudly exclaim "I love what I do!"
"I just wanted to write and thank you for all the help you've been the past 6 months. Since I hired you after the 9-11 debacle here in NYC, you've been a Godsend! After my business collapsed, I had no idea what I would do next. At first, I really didn't want to look at the opportunities, I just wanted to sulk. Thanks for gently prodding me to set a timeline and create a new plan. I love my new career choice. I do not know if I would have made it as quickly without you. I am grateful that I met you." (Michael Levin, Senior VP of Sales & Business Development, NYC)

Since many of my newsletter subscribers are coaches, this section is for you. It contains tips and techniques
to take your coaching practice to the next level. BEING PERFECT CAN STAND BETWEEN YOU
AND YOUR CLIENTS
Are you trying to be perfect with your clients? Your
clients want your knowledge and expertise, but they
also want someone who is real. Being perfect is a
standard that is impossible to reach. We wouldn't tell
our clients to strive for perfection, yet we worry
about coming across perfect ourselves.
Earlier in my coaching practice, I felt like I had know
all the answers and convey them in a perfect way. I
worried that my clients would leave my coaching
practice unless I coached them perfectly. What happened
was exactly what I feared. Clients stopped using me a
their coach. They told me it was because I didn't
understand them very well. What they were really saying
is that I was so worried about getting it right, that I
could not listen effectively to what they were saying.
Now, it's ok if I make a mistake here or there, because
I am coming from a non-perfect place.
Do not try to be perfect. Your gift of coaching cannot
come through if you are more concerned with how you are
coaching, rather than on what your clients need from
you. My advice is to be yourself. Use your gifts and
talents to their fullest potential. This is what your
clients really want.
