Special Note: Brian & I are back from our honeymoon and we had a great time. Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am grateful to have you in my life.
Since we are in such uncertain times, I decided to focus this issue on change. It is important that we live our lives being the best we can be, and who we were meant to be. There will always be outside reasons why we cannot. It is up to us to find reasons why we can. God Bless America!
I. ARE YOU TRYING TO CHANGE EVERYTHING AT ONCE?
I meet many people who have things in their lives that they want to change. Yet, the changes are never made. They are confused as to why grand ideas or goals are never reached. They wonder why they keep doing the same things over and over again, getting the same results.
These are regular people like you and me. They are in jobs or situations that they do not like, but they are not taking the action steps necessary to have the outcomes be different. Now, more than ever, they see the importance of being true to themselves and living lives they love.
For some, the problem is that they are trying to change everything at once, thus becoming overwhelmed. The result is them telling themselves that it will be too much work to make the change. They tell themselves that the change will take too much time, and if only they had made the change earlier in their lives, then they would have what they wanted by now.
All this does is delay their change. And, it keeps them from formulating a plan to get them where they want to be.
Is there a better way? Yes, but it has to start with you.
If you want a new job, how about updating your resume? If you want a promotion, how about having a conversation with your boss to see what you need to do to get one? If you want to switch careers, how about spending some time researching what you need to do, or speaking to people who are already there? The key is to break your change into small pieces so you are able to get there.
So, what do you say? You only have one life to live, so it might as well be a life you love!

II. TOP WAYS TO UPGRADE YOURSELF
Change is not easy. The general rule is that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. It takes discipline and determination to develop a new practice or upgrade an old one. Then you must integrate that practice into your daily routine, so that it becomes a new habit. The following steps describe the process of upgrading who we are:
1. Discontentment.
You know what this is. That restlessness that lets you know that all is not right and that change is necessary.
2. Define The Change Needed.
Identify what is needed and what it will take to improve the situation.
3. Delay Gratification.
Delay gratification in order to listen to the inner wisdom that can provide the answers you need.
4. Plan.
Formulate a Plan of Action that will propel you towards your goals.
5. Take Action.
It's important to begin the change, one step at a time, once a plan of action is identified.
6. Review.
Stop what you are doing, on a consistent basis, to evaluate whether your actions are working. If not, make the necessary adjustments.
7. Navigational Changes/Flexibility.
Be ready to make small shifts along the way to your goals; flexibility is crucial.
8. Acknowledge The Small Stuff.
Give yourself credit for the small changes that are taking you to the finish line!
9. Stay The Course.
Don't quit, whatever you do - you're too close now!.
10. CELEBRATE A Job Well Done!
You have achieved a new goal and the birth of a new habit! This will help you be the best you can be.

Since many of my newsletter subscribers are coaches, this section is for you. It contains tips and techniques
to take your coaching practice to the next level. THIS MONTH: MARKETING IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK
Marketing used to be more difficult for me because I
was unfocused. I was advertising here, speaking
there, writing here, giving teleclasses there,
networking here, etc. You get the picture.
I found that I was doing all of the above because I
felt I had to or my practice would not grow. And,
all the activity was taking away from what I loved
to do, which was writing. So, I decided to focus my
efforts and grow my practice through writing. Once I
made this decision, I was able to put all my energies
in one place, and clients have come into my practice
as a result.
For me, the nicest surprise was when I focused on
writing, the other marketing pieces fell into place.
By offering my articles to others, I found myself
networking, advertising, and speaking without even
trying.
The lesson? Focus on what you love to do. If you
love to write, then spend your time writing and
looking for places where you can submit your work.
If you love to speak, then spend your time finding
places where you can speak. If you love to network,
join a networking group and go to every association
meeting in your area related to who you want as a
client.
You can only do so much because you are just one
person. With this approach, you are doing what you
love and growing your practice as the same time.

the above on a one-on-one basis? Visit coaches.html
