I. HAVE YOU GIVEN UP ON YOUR DREAMS?

Have you given up on your dreams? Would you like to get them back?

Many of us give up on our dreams. Often our dreams slip away without our even realizing it. We get bogged down with the day-to-day responsibilities of being a wife, husband, parent, full-time worker, etc. We know that we are busy at the moment, but we’ll get back to pursuing our dreams “some
day”. We really will.

Bu then “some day” doesn’t happen and it seems too hard to get back to where we were when we were first excited about our dreams. It becomes “too late” or “impossible” to pursue, so we give up and walk away.

But inside, something is still missing. We know we’re not happy but we figure it’s the job, or the relationship (or lack of) that is making us unhappy. If we could only make more money, lose 10 pounds, or find the perfect mate, etc, then everything would fall into place.

But how can things fall into place when we’ve forgotten ourselves?

Our dreams are who we are. They give us an incentive to get out of bed everyday. They are the reason we were born, and our destiny to fulfill while we are here.

So what do you do when you’ve given up on your dreams?

You remember that you are worth it and that you deserve to live your dreams. Recognizing this is the hardest and most necessary step. Once you know how important living your dreams is to your health and mental well being, then you can propel yourself into action.

Maybe you are thinking: “I don’t remember what my dreams were” or “I don’t have a dream”. You know what they are, you really do. You just need to let them surface again so you can fulfill them.

Take one action each day towards living your dreams. It could be as simple as making a phone call, sending an e-mail, or doing some research on the Internet. Dreams are attained through the little steps until, one day, you find that you are living them.

So don’t give up! Your dreams are within your grasp. And yes, they can come true. It’s up to you to decide if they will.

II. INSPIRATIONAL PASSAGES THAT WILL KEEP YOU ON TRACK

Below are motivational passages that will give you hope and get you moving.

Your dreams are always there; it’s just a matter or remembering that and taking action towards fulfilling them.

PASSAGE #1-DON'T LET GO OF HOPE

Don't let go of hope;
Hope gives you the strength to keep going when you feel like giving up.

Don't ever quit believing in yourself;
As long as you believe you can, you will have a reason for trying.

Don't let anyone hold your happiness in their hands;
Hold it in yours, so it will always be within your reach.

Don't let bad moments overcome you;
Be patient, and they will pass.

Don't hesitate to reach out for help;
We all need it from time to time.

Don't run away from love,
Because it is our deepest joy.

Don't wait for what you want to come to you;
Go after it with all that you are, knowing that life will meet you there.

Don't feel like you've lost when plans and dreams fall short of your hopes.
Anytime you learn something new about yourself or about life, you have progressed.

Don't do anything that takes away your self-respect;
Feeling good about yourself is essential to feeling good about life.

Don't ever forget how to laugh or be too proud to cry;
It is by doing both that we live life to its fullest.

PASSAGE #2-BELIEVE THAT IT WILL HAPPEN!

Believe in your heart that something wonderful is about to happen.
Believe in your own powers, and your own potential, and in your own innate goodness.

Wake every morning with the awe of just being alive.
Explore and embrace life in yourself and in everyone you see each day.

Reach within to find your own specialness.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect; this is the essence of your humanity.

Let those who love you help you.
Trust enough to be able to let their love in.

Look with hope to the horizon of today, for today is all we truly have.
Create your own rainbows.

Be open to all possibilities and miracles.
Always believe that they will happen, because they will!

V. LAST MONTH

October was Breast Cancer awareness month and last month’s issue was dedicated to discovering if you are taking change of your health and doing what is necessary to be healthy.

My mother is a 9-year breast cancer survivor. She wrote a true story about her bout with breast cancer and how a woman named Ginny is the reason she detected early and saved her life.

My mother’s story had a happy ending, but it could have been different. If my mom did not have the courage to discover, then face what was wrong in her body, she might not be here today.
