Career Coaching is an ongoing relationship which focuses on the client taking action toward the realization of their career goals. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy. The coaching process helps clients both define and achieve career goals faster and with more ease than would be possible otherwise.
Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:
- Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve in their career
- Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
- Hold the client as responsible and accountable
The International Coach Federation, which is the most well-known and respected coaching organization in the world, estimates that there are currently 10,000 part-time and full-time coaches worldwide.
